Art to the Rescue! Animal art fundraiser at Galerie Ouest

There are so many homeless dogs and cats out there - animal shelters are overcrowded and underfunded and need our help to keep on going! Galerie Ouest is calling on all artists to participate in its first juried art fundraiser, Art to the Rescue! to benefit Rosie Animal Adoption and Animatch, two local animal shelters that have been working hard over the years to find new homes for abandoned pets.

Artists are invited to submit digital images of their work featuring animals, real or imaginary, domestic or wild, mythical or whimsical, before September 18. To be considered for the exhibition, the artwork may not exceed 40” in width. All media are welcome: paintings, drawing, sculptures, textiles, printmaking, photography, etc. as long as they respect the theme. The nonrefundable entry fee is $25 per person.
Multiple entries (up to 2 per person) are welcome. Artists will be notified of acceptance by October 2.

The exhibition will be held in the gallery from November 5-10, 2009.
Proceeds from the art sales will be divided equally between the artists and the animal charities.
